Benghazi Cover Up: Geraldo Throws a Fit, The FBI in Route to Tunisia, and The Latest Evidence
The FBI has been cleared to interview a Tunisian suspect in the attack on the Consulate, and they are in route to do so on their way to Tunisia. Also, new evidence in the Benghazi cover up has been provided, and there is sharp dispute among some over what could or could not have been done on that fateful and tragic night.
In a revolting display of hysterics, Geraldo Rivera went ballistic and attacked Eric Bolling on Fox and Friends for raising the legitimate issue of whether or not our military could have aided Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, and Sean Smith on the night of their murder.
Here is a video of Geraldo in action this morning:
An Analysis of Geraldo’s Tirade
Shouting down Eric Bolling, Geraldo levied the gross insult that Bolling was “lying” and was a “politician”. He declared that Bolling was “misleading the American people” because Bolling said that no help was sent.
While slandering Bolling, Geraldo declared that he “loved” Charles Woods, the father of slain Navy Seal Tyrone Woods, and had even “kissed him on television” – even as he continued in the next sentence, and condemned Charles Woods’ assertion that Obama was a coward, and a murderer. The real culprit in Geraldo’s mind however, appears to be the press, whom Geraldo blames for Charles Woods’ perspective.
Geraldo also implied that no other parents of fallen soldiers had similiar complaints. Apparently he is unaware that the Vaughns, parents of slain Seal Team 6 member Aaron Vaughn, have also stated that Obama “put a target” on their son’s back. You can see a video of Karen Vaughn and her husband condemning Obama’s action and making this statement, here.
Their son, Aaron Vaughn, 21 other Navy Seals, and additional support personel, were killed when Al Qaeda shot down their helicopter in retaliation for the death of Osama Bin Laden after Obama boasted about his role in the death of Bin Laden, and revealed that Seal Team Six had carried out the raid.
Pat Smith is the mother of fallen Air Force Veteran Sean Smith, one of the four Americans murdered in the Benghazi terror attack on our Consulate. She has stated the Obama administration has lied to her about the death of her son. Sean Smith’s father, Ray Smith, is a disabled United States Marine from the Vietnam War era.
He is also outraged, and has echoed the condemnation of the Vaughn’s, and Charles Woods.
He learned of his sons death when photos of the dead appeared on the news. A carton containing a nylon flag and a plaque was left on his doorstep. In an interview with reporters he stated the following:
“My son and them dialed 911 for help and they wouldn’t help them,” added Smith. “I want whoever did this, whoever didn’t answer their phone, I want them brought to justice too.”
Congressman C.W. Young (R-FL) is attempting to aid Mr. Smith, and stated the following:
“He wants answers. Just like the rest of the country,” said the Congressman.”They want to know why these American heroes were asking for help and being denied the help?”
You can see a video of Mr. Smith and Congressman Young and read the entire article here.
Geraldo’s unjustified attack levied at Bolling is inexcusable.
When he condemned Eric Bolling as a liar, and accused Bolling of questioning the events of that night in Benghazi for political reasons, he also condemned Charles Woods, Mr. Smith, and the Vaughn family.
He also condemned millions of Americans who agree with these family members, who will not excuse the failure of the White House to protect not only four brave Americans, but our national security as a whole.
Furthermore, when Geraldo asserted in the midst of his temper tantrum that there was nothing that could have been done that horrific night, he accused those who say otherwise of having no military experience. This is absolutely untrue. When he said this, he directly contradicted high ranking military veterans that are not restricted to the confines of the Obama administration.
One such veteran is retired Admiral James A. Lyons, former commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet and senior U.S. military representative to the United Nations. Lyons directly contradicts Geraldo’s assertion that the Obama administration did all they could that night.
In a recent article, Lyons stated the following:
“There is not any doubt that action on our part could have saved the lives of our two former Navy SEALs and possibly the ambassador.”
This is an excellent article, and Admiral Lyons lays out his expert reasoning on why the military could have aided those killed by terrorists in Benghazi that night. I provided a link to it the other day, but for those who missed it, you will find the entire article here.
And finally, Geraldo has not only contradicted a decorated Admiral of the highest miltary calibre, he has disregarded a vast array of military veterans who have not been heard. In the process, he has utterly ignored the damage Obama has done to the vital relationship between our troops, and their Commander in Chief.
Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan) is the most senior former United States Marine in Congress, a former member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, and the former head of Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Senator Roberts spoke with Greta Van Susteren on the record, and today, Senator Roberts shared his concerns via a video of his interview with Greta.
On October 31st, Senator Roberts sent a letter to Obama. In the letter, he expresses his justified and dire concern that American soldiers no longer feel protected by their government as a result of Obama’s failures. Like Admiral James Lyons, he also questions “why”.
Here is an excerpt from his letter:
“…you can be sure every single member of our United States military services now knows that the sacred bond of never leaving a comrade in distress or danger may be worthless as of the date of this disgrace. We cannot allow this to happen. We cannot let this issue fester and infect the bond of taking care of our own. As one veteran stated so well in one of our town hall meetings:
“When I signed up I knew I would likely be put in harm’s way. But I also knew someone would have my back. I just don’t know if that is true today.”
Mr. President, it is my belief that until you, as Commander in Chief, publicly and in detail inform the American public of what happened and why, that bond, which has existed as long as the United States of America has fielded armies, is breaking. We must know why American assets at the scene or close by were not utilized to save American lives acting in the line of duty.
It is unknown if Geraldo “takes umbrage” with Senator Roberts’ assessment as well. Along with journalists from Fox, Greta Van Susteren has done an excellent job of reporting on the Benghazi Cover Up. Along with other documents, you will find a complete copy of Senator Roberts’ letter provided by Greta Van Susteren and Fox News, here.
The people of Kansas and America as a whole, should be greatful for such a distinguished and qualified legislator such as Senator Roberts, who joins other legislators who continue to contend for the well being of the nation.
As for Geraldo, this is not the first time he has insulted half the nation by accusing those who want answers of being guilty of nothing but a political ploy.
Geraldo was recently questioned by Bill O’Reilly for his leniency in defense of Obama. Geraldo was unable to shout down Bill O’Reilly when O’Reilly pointed out Geraldo’s soft stance on Obama.
Unlike his unexpected tirade on Fox this morning, there was little Geraldo could do while under one on one scrutiny from Bill O’Reilly. Bill O’Reilly refused to yield to Geraldo’s attempts to deflect the obvious. Geraldo attempted to blame “political sharks” for demanding answers before the upcoming election. You can watch the interview here. Kudos to Bill O’Reilly.
If there were ever a time when Americans needed to know the truth it is now. It is the fault of the Obama administration that Al Qaeda linked terrorists were able to slaughter Consulate employees and an American Ambassador virtually unopposed.
It is the fault of the Obama administration that Al Qaeda was not opposed, because for months, and even the very day of the attack, they had refused to address the growing and urgent threat from Al Qaeda in Benghazi in spite of pleas for help from the Consulate for more security.
And while Geraldo Rivera make “take umbrage” with legitimate inquiry as to whether or not we could have prevented their death on the night that the attack occured, millions of Americans nationwide are certainly justified in taking umbrage with Geraldo’s accusations that this is just a political ploy by political sharks.
The political sharks Geraldo is referring to are the legislators elected by the American people to secure their national interests. When these legislators demand answers and conduct a justified investigation, it is not a political ploy.
When Americans refuse to stand by Obama because they are outraged by an administration who has neglected our national security which lead to the senseless death of four Americans, and then subsequently lied to cover it up, it is not a political ploy.
And when journalists like Eric Bolling seek legitimate answers they are merely doing their job and fullfilling their role, which is in part, to protect the American people. It is not a political ploy when journalists seek answers to legitimate questions of national concern.
All things considered, Geraldo’s childish temper fit should be given the credence it is due.
In light of the falsehoods perpetrated by the current administration, Americans who want answers are amply justified when they consider the opinions of military experts such as Admiral Lyons. And they should continue to hearken to their elected legislators such as Senator Roberts and other legislators who are acting on behalf of the best interest of the nation, rather than the best interest of Obama.
Update on the Latest Evidence
You can also read the article from Foreign Policy Magazine who conducted their own on site investigation. The evidence they found at the scene includes correspondence that confirms Sean Smith’s fears earlier in the day that they were about to be killed.
The Campaign Trail: Obama Continues to Mislead America
Meanwhile, Obama campaigned on the stump in Ohio today, and he continues to mislead the American people about the current rising threat of Al Qaeda, with statements such as “Al Qaeda has been decimated and Osama Bin Laden is dead”.
While defending Obama, Democratic Senator Dick Durbin attempted to say two weeks ago that Al Qaeda was “on their heels”. As Senator Durbin was speaking, the news was breaking that a major terror plot had just been thwarted in Jordan by Jordanian authorities. The plot was connected to Al Qaeda, and would have caused catastrophic loss of life, on a level with our own 911. It included the bombing of hotels, and our embassy, and the murder of more of our diplomats.
One week ago, Indonesian authorities thwarted an Al Qaeda linked plot with the same goal. Multiple targets were slated, including United States embassasies and our diplomats. Quote:
Other bombs were planned for the embassy of the United States, and two more at the US consulate-general in the city of Surabaya in eastern Java, and a police mobile brigade headquarters in Central Java, police said.
Nevertheless, as recently as yesterday, Obama stated in Green Bay, Wisconsin, “Osama bin Laden is dead, and Al Qaeda had been decimated”.
When Obama says such things, he inspires many who do not know he is misleading them to wild applause. When Obama says such things, he lulls the American people into a false sense of security, demonstrates a callous disregard for honesty, and continues to cover up the truth.
As for all of Geraldo’s bluster over the American people supposedly being “misled” by journalists like Bolling and “political sharks”, such as legislators investigating the cover up:
The truth is, when Obama says such things, it is not Eric Bolling who is deceiving the American people. But it can accurately be claimed that the American people are being misled by a political shark.
“Assuming we don’t die tonight. We saw one of our ‘police’ that guard the compound taking pictures,” ~Air Force Veteran Sean Smith, hours before his murder in Benghazi during an Al Qaeda linked terror attack at the US Consulate, September 11, 2012
